Brazil Made Toys Will Cut Price to Increase Competition

On the opening ceremony of the 29th Brazilian Toy Expo, the Brazilian Toy Manufacturers Association announced that the price of 76% toys which are made in Brazil would fall to about $ 27 so as to improve the competitiveness of imported toys countries such as China

The President of the Brazilian Toy Manufacturers Association said we have carried out the research to find out that almost consumers were likely to buy low price toys, why not we cut prices? In addition, he said according to the previous survey, it showed that $ 27 was the suitable price upper limit. For example, in 2011, 72% of Brazil made toys were sold at the price under $ 27.

In order to avoid some sale loss, cased by this cut price measure, the Toy Manufacturers Association had submitted the petitions to the government. They hoped that some measures which can stimulate the economy could be implemented. For example, the payroll tax in toys industry was reduced from 20% right now to the 1%.

Brazilian Toy Expo is the largest industry trade event in the whole Latin America and would be held every year in the city of Sao Paulo. This year, about 1600 kinds of new toys products are displayed in the Toy Expo.
