As we all know, South Korea is located in the northeast area of China. In Chinese ancient times, South Korea was also called “Dsyi”. However, South Korea is called “mysterious light of the East” at present, and the old matters as well as the new matters are all here. Besides, this country merges both ancient elements and modern elements, and one of the Summer Olympic Game ever took place here in 1988, and this country also possesses the style of modern civilization, and this country still reserves the essence of ancient oriental civilization at present, and it has the cultural tradition of more than 5,000 years. Thus, let’s learn something important we should pay attention to when travelling in South Korea as follows.

First of all, remember to be quiet and try your best to make small noise when you are talking to your friends or when you are speaking in the subway, buses, or elevators. Otherwise, you will be criticized. Since the Korean people are all used to speaking lightly, and they advocate the principle that they do not disturb others when they are in public places.

Secondly, remember to stand only on the right of elevators when you are getting on elevators. Furthermore, most of the width of elevators in South Korea is narrower than that of China, and half of the left side of elevators is usually left for the one who are hurrying to go in general. If you do not know this and stand exactly on the left side of elevators, you’d better return back to the right side of elevators at this time. Otherwise, you will be regarded as the one who are very impolite.

Thirdly, remember to take a garbage bag with you before you go out of your house. There is usually no any trash can on both sides of streets, and the trash can only exists in the subway stations or in the washrooms. Moreover, you can put your rubbish into the garbage bag which you are well prepared before you go out and then throw your garbage bag into the trash can. In the meantime, remember to sort your rubbish out before you throw them into the trash can.
