Rope skipping is not only children’s game, but also a good way of body-building. Ten minutes of durative skipping is better than 30 minutes’ jog and 20 minutes’ dancing. Rope skipping can promote blood circulation, protect the heart, increase lung capacity and strengthen the health of body.

The time quantum of skipping is varies from different people. If you choose the way of continuous fast-pace skipping, then 10 minutes is limited, otherwise the heart will not bear the heavy load. If you prefer to skip for a while then break some time, in this way, every 30 minutes is appropriate. At the beginning of rope skipping, you should practice much slowly; the speed can gradually increase with time flies. The slow speed should maintain at an average of 60-70 times per minute, while faster rate ought to remain at an average of 140-160 times in one minute. But the specific exercise should be based on individual strength.

Since rope skipping is an outdoor activity with a relatively large amount of movement, the sufficient preparation is necessary before the practice, especially some activities of the ankle, wrist, shoulder and elbow joint.
