Do You Know These Four Main Categories of Magnets

Do you know that magnets can be divided into four main categories including NdFeB magnets, ferrite magnet, Samarium Cobalt Magnets and Alnico magnets. In the following article, I will introduce these magnets one by one.

NdFeB magnet
NdFeB magnet is a little fragile and has better machining performance. As usual, they can have centerless grinding, grinding, double-sided grinding, high-speed wire cutting, the inner circle sliced and the typical shapes include square, circle, donut, tile-shaped, trapezoidal blocks, the circular table sheet, bread-like, spherical, etc.

Samarium Cobalt Magnets
Samarium Cobalt Magnets is too hard and it is not easy to process because of higher density than Neodymium Magnets. Shapes of NdFeB magnet can also manufactured by Samarium Cobalt Magnets, however, the cost is more higher than NdFeB magnet, about five to ten times. Under the continuous high temperature of 150 ℃ to 350 ℃, Samarium Cobalt Magnets has the excellent performance, however, right now, NdFeB magnet should be the first choice.

ferrite magnet
The main raw material of ferrite magnet manufacturing include iron oxide, barium oxide, strontium oxide, etc., and the manufacturing process include dry way and wet way. Comparatively speaking, ferrite magnet is not easy to process.

Alnico Magnet
Alnico Magnet belongs to the traditional magnet class and its cost range between neodymium iron boron and samarium cobalt. In general, its working temperature can be up to 450 ℃. The common shape of Alnico Magnet include square, circular, U, tile, ring, etc..
